Due to continued growth and with support from Fife Council’s Fife Job Contract scheme we have created a new full time position for an:

Apprentice Technician

Location: Unit 4-6 Merlin Way, Donibristle Industrial Estate, Dalgety Bay, Fife, KY11 9JY

Hours: 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

The role will involve:

• Assisting our Fish Tech Engineers in their tasks
• Engineering tasks including hand tools, power tools, CNC machine and large saws.
• Plastic welding
• Manual handling
• Working on site at our customers’ premises across the UK
• Cleaning the workshop
• On the job training will be provided and our apprentice would be expected to progress to Assistant Technician level within 6 months and Technicican level within one year.

Applicants should have:

• Higher Grade pass in Maths, English, a Science (preferably Biology) and a Technical subject or equivalent.
• One years’ work experience (or 2 years part time experience)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A positive mindset and be good at working both independently and in a small team.

It would be desirable for applicants to have:

• HNC or HND in Engineering or similar discipline
• Work experience in a trade e.g. plumbing, joinery etc.
• Full, clean driving licence
• Experience of keeping fish and an interest in Marine Biology
